What's Sintered Tungsten Boat?
Sintered tungsten boat is high-temperature evaporation tungsten boat made from high-purity tungsten powder, pressed and sintered in high-temperature hydrogen or vacuum environment. Tungsten boat has dense, uniform microstructure suitable for long-term stable operation in high-temperature and high-vacuum conditions. Tungsten boat is mainly applied in vacuum thermal evaporation, material evaporation, and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes.
Compared with conventional machined tungsten crucibles, sintered tungsten crucible offers more uniform grain structure and stable high-temperature performance. It resists structural deformation or local cracking under repeated thermal cycles, suitable for high-load continuous evaporation applications.
Features of CTIA’s Sintered Tungsten Boat
(1) High-Temperature Stability: Tungsten has a melting point of approximately 3422 °C, allowing sintered tungsten boat to operate stably above 1,800°C.
(2) High Density and Low Contamination: Sintered density typically ≥19.1 g/cm3, minimizing evaporation loss at high temperature and reducing film contamination risk.
(3) Uniform Microstructure: Powder metallurgy forms fine and uniform grains, improving thermal field stability and thermal fatigue resistance.
(4) Thermal Cycle Resistance: Maintains structural integrity and dimensional stability under frequent heating and cooling conditions.
(5) Corrosion Resistance: Strong resistance to most molten metals, suitable for long-term vacuum evaporation environments.
